The Ethics Commission’s official compilation explains the general seven-working-day response or denial rule and the written explanation required when production takes longer under the statute. Webster County Jail Release Timing
The jail does not publish release hours, weekend rules, holiday timing, a pickup door, or property procedures. A judge’s order or expected hour does not guarantee that processing is complete. Staff may still need to verify the order, check other holds, finish records, identify a receiver, or handle property. Call for actual completion status and pickup location rather than promising a time from a court calendar.
For bond, obtain both the court or bond authority and the jail release timestamp. For time served, compare the sentencing order and jail credit with the discharge line. When a transfer is expected, ask whether transport has occurred and which agency accepted the person. Those are distinct events, and their system entry times may differ.

Webster County Justice Court in Eupora is a likely source for county misdemeanors and preliminary felony-stage matters within its jurisdiction. The Circuit Clerk in Walthall maintains indicted criminal matters. A municipal court may hold the case created by a city charge. Obtain the case number from the booking or arrest record before asking a clerk for a docket.
Useful court documents include the charging paper, bond or recognizance order, dismissal, plea or verdict, sentencing order, and any later modification, revocation, satisfaction, or expungement order that remains public. A court term schedule is not a release schedule. The court can show why release was authorized, while the sheriff’s dated movement entry shows when local custody ended. If one charge ended but the jail shows another hold, the record does not support a community exit at that point.
Webster County Jail Record Limits
No published retention period was verified for the Webster electronic booking record or photo. Online absence and record destruction are separate issues. Ask whether the custodian can retrieve the historical entry by booking number and date. Juvenile, victim, medical, sealed, expunged, and active-investigation material may be restricted or redacted. Webster County Jail Transfer Evidence
A transfer creates two linked records. Webster County should have the custody-end event, transfer time, receiving agency, and destination fields it keeps. The receiver should have an admission or intake event. Compare both records by booking or offender identifier and time. A gap between transport and receiving-system entry does not prove community release. It may reflect processing or system timing.
When the receiver is MDOC, search the MDOC number and current location, but do not treat its Tentative Release Date as the county exit or an actual state discharge. When the receiver is another county, ask that jail for its own final event. Federal and immigration transfers require their distinct channels. Webster County Jail Release History
The operative jail is easily confused with a historic building. A February 2022 Attorney General opinion describes the active Eupora jail as built in 1965 under an agreement between Webster County and the city. The historic 1892 jail in Walthall can appear in maps, image results, and landmark references, but it is not the active detention address.
The opinion records concerns about the active jail and a legal question about relocation. A WCBI report also discussed planning for a new jail. Neither source reviewed proves that a replacement was completed. Treat them as history and planning. For present release records and routing, use the current county listing at 87 Government Street.
Mathiston Webster Jail Release Routing
Mathiston lies in both Webster and Choctaw Counties. An arrest described only as “in Mathiston” does not show which county booked the person. Ask the police department for the arresting unit, the agency that accepted custody, and the facility or court used. If Webster County Jail accepted the booking, its final event controls the Webster release question. If Choctaw County or another agency took custody, the request belongs there.
The Attorney General opinion considered whether the Webster jail could move to Mathiston. It concluded that, under the stated proposal, a qualifying joint facility would need to be within the Webster County portion and satisfy the applicable legal route. That analysis is not an announcement that the jail moved. Confirming the custodial agency remains essential for any Mathiston arrest.
